Torchwood: Lost Files Review (Submission)

Hello, Livejournal.

I'm booting up this old thing for the month of July. It's to post reaction/review posts for Torchwood: Miracle Day and for the BBC Radio4 Torchwood: The Lost Files radio plays. These reviews / reactions are written quickly and I don't read over them after. So… expect typos and sudden changes in tense. I'm bad about the tense thing.

Torchwood: Miracle Day (Episode 1)

Oh boy. Almost a week late on this one, but I wanted to watch it again before I tried to put any thoughts down on it.

I've had such mixed feels about this miniseries leading up to it. My favorite character is gone, but my second and third favorite people are still on it. Captain Jack is still awesome. Gwen is there, and she is retaining the kickass nature she gained during Children of Earth. So... I eagerly awaited it.

Kyle (the fiance) and I rewatched Children of Earth the night before Miracle Day was suppose to be available online. We had rewatched the entire series over the past few weeks. We would open a bottle of wine and laugh at some of the most ridiculous plots, make our arguments for why Owen is/isn't the scum of the Earth, and dealt with Kyle quietly pointing out that Ianto was sometimes less than useful. We finished Day 5 of Children of Earth at about 2am and I was a bit intoxicated. An hour later, after Kyle had gone to sleep, someone posted the link to watch Miracle Day online. I tried to watch and fell asleep. Uh oh.
